Alllllll Byyyyy Myyyysellllllfffffff!

First, let me just share one hilarious tidbit of information with all of you.

Part of the awesome thing about my blog is the fact that I have the ability to monitor the traffic, clicks, and referrers to SeeSondraSlim. So, it will tell me that people have found me through search engines….and what terms they searched under to find me.

Today? I was found in a search for “nude black supermodel.”

You know…as disturbed as I was initally….I’ll take that! LOL! Notice there was no mention of the words ‘plus sized’ in there?

Moving on, I was listening to my Glee playlist earlier and heard “All By Myself,” Sunshine Corazon style, and it dawned on me: I am technically not alllll byyyyy myyyyyyself….anymoooooooooooore! HA! (I am just far too tickled by the fun I can have with this song, I tell you!)

I used to kinda hate going to Zumba, because I didn’t usually have anyone that I knew there with me. Now, I have made friends with some of the girls, and we have a blast messing up moves together with new instructors, and it’s like high school all over again walking out into the parking lot after! “Are you coming tomorrow night? With Rose? YAY! Ok! See you then!”

I have given in to the inevitable, and the formerly mentioned “StupidHead” and I are taking it day by day, but acknowledging our formerly un-mentioned admirations for each other ( did I mention that I really am not too great at relationships? As in, I’ll practically be in a relationship, and refuse to call it one? Taking it day by day….what does that even MEAN?) So, while I am not actually taken….I am not actually single either. Yikes.

I just got goosebumps. Holy cow.

Moving on!

I have made a few decisions in the quest to make it to 100 official pounds lost by the 15th of February.

1. I will continue to go to Zumba at least 3 times a week.

2. No more Starbucks.

3. No more fast food….unless it’s chicken salad from Chik-fil-A. Because some things just cannot be given up. Besides, total protein there!

4. Breakfast will be a protein shake every morning! No excuses!

5. It’s personal training time. My job is thinking of bringing a trainer into the office to work with us for a small fee each month….but I may just go ahead and get a package at 24 hr fitness, and then use that knowledge to continue on my own, since I’m already there most weeknights anyways.

These are the small, easy steps I plan to focus on this month. My birthday is March 1st, and I really want to meet and exceed this goal by then. 5 lbs isn’t so hard to lose, right??! Especially for a girl who can hardly eat more than 3 oz in a sitting.

My annual physical is on Valentine’s Day (scheduled like a true single girl. Smh.), and I am so excited to see my primary care doctor and show him all the benefits I have reaped from his referral to my surgeon last January! Also, I need him to start working on my notes for the plastic surgeon I plan to see next January. Say it with me: panniculectomy!

The year has just begun, and yet…..it’s already a month down! Time to kick it in high gear, and continue to make things happen! And seeing as January is already over…that means next week is the next installment of the 30 Day Challenge! AHHHH! Should be good times. 🙂

Maybe you will be able to see all the hard work I’ve been putting in with Zumba, eh? By the way, for all my local friends who read, if you’re a member of 24 hr fitness, you should totally go to Zumba with me! I go to the Vista Sport club M-w at 8:30 pm, Th at 8:30 am and sometimes Saturdays at 11 am. You won’t be able to walk properly the next day, but you won’t be sorry, either!

A Revolution…and Power Enchiladas!

Hello, lovelies!

So, it’s been a minute, but I am back, and here to share the latest exciting news!

ABC has a new television show called The Revolution, and there is a segment featuring people who want to lose weight. They give you tools and resources to reach your goals, and also give mini wardrobe makeovers, etc. I came upon the information for the casting recently, and decided to give it a shot! I was contacted today, and they said my application and photos caught their atttention! They’ve asked me to submit a 10-20 minute video audition capturing a day in my life, and the opinions of some of the people close to me. My dear Candace has agreed to help me tape this audition, and I am so excited! Although I may not get chosen in the long run, I feel like the video will be a really fun project, and I am super excited to get started!

So many doors have been opened up to me since I began this journey, and I cannot wait to see it keep growing and transforming into a revolution of its own. Who knows. Maybe SeeSondraSlim can be it’s own segment one day? 🙂

I follow Muscle and Fitness Hers magazine on Facebook, and they always post awesome recipes and motivational photos/quotes. They recently featured a recipe for “Power Enchiladas,” and they sound AMAZING! Check out the recipe here.

Each enchilada is looking at 254 calories, 21.7 g protein, 19.7 g carbs, and 9.8 g fat! Hellloooo! Did someone say 21.7 grams of protein? That’s 25% of what I need per day, in one enchilada (which is probably all I can eat, anyways)! Heck yes! Get you some!

Speaking of which, I printed out the class schedules for the months of January and February at my gym, and have planned my Zumba attack for each week. Mon-Weds I go at 8:30 pm, Thurs morning at 8:30 am, and when my plans permit, Saturday mornings at 11 am.

While it seems crazy, and I haven’t walked properly since Monday, this routine truly makes me HAPPY. I get in that class, and everyday it seems like I get an instructor with more energy and intensity….but I leave the gym feeling like a million dollars (blotchy face and all!).

Nothing tastes as good as working out feels. The class works pretty much EVERY part of your body….jumping squats, ab work, regular squats, booty shaking, lunging, running, hopping, dancing, kickboxing….it’s all there! I’m sore all over….but I know that my sick pack dreams are not in vain! I can feel ’em coming!

I think that’s all for tonight. Just wanted to post quickly since I haven’t all week. I will keep you all updated on the video audition news, and any other excitement.

Making An Impact (or, My Challenge to YOU).

Hello, Wonderful Readers!

I come before you today, asking you for help with a big project.

As you all know, I was inspired to create this blog after coming across Michele Vicari, aka Eggface when I began reseaching my weight loss surgery. Her blog post today truly inspired me, and I want to be a part of what she is doing….but with a little twist, perhaps.

First and foremost, please go read her post here.

Now, I have lost a total of 94 lbs since surgery. I will be putting together my 94 food items this week, in addition to donating my clothing that no longer fits. The fight against hunger is just as important as the fight against obesity. As a matter of fact, sometimes, they go hand in hand.

As a kid, my mom didn’t have a lot of money. After my parents divorced, times were pretty hard, and my dad was usually pretty hard to track down. My mom did her best, but sometimes, I can honestly say we lived on Top Ramen, and my brother and I got pretty excited to have PB& J in two jars, rather than the weird stuff that’s mixed together in one. We spent our summers at rec centers and churches for free lunch, and always made a bee-line to the lunch line during school for free lunch. We also got to school early everyday to be there in time for free breakfast. When my mom finally was approved for food stamps (which was extremely difficult for her, because she had a job….), we were finally able to have a little more. But when you get something you haven’t had in awhile, it doesn’t last very long. Juice, cookies, candy, chips, ice cream….all those things you can’t buy on a Top Ramen budget, but look forward to as a kid.

My mom did a lot to make sure we never went hungry. In actuality, there are kids who don’t even get Top Ramen or the weird Pb & J.  But I always had a fear that we wouldn’t have anything to eat. I was also raised to eat everything on my plate, because we just didn’t waste food, coming from that life. As a result, I got older, and ate everything on my plate way after I was full. I hoarded food, for fear that I might need it later, and when I was sad, depressed, lonely, or angry….I’d eat it all.

I try not to remember those days. I try to just thank God that I didn’t end up with diabetes. That I got to a point in high school where I packed salads with grilled chicken for lunch everyday, and quit drinking soda, and eating red meat. I am thankful to my aunt, for intervening when she saw I was still hoarding sweets out of habit, and helping me realize that I will always have a home, a bed, and a meal. I finally broke the food dependence….but couldn’t shake the weight.

For some, my journey seems so out of the blue. But I have to look back every day at the little girl wearing juniors clothes, the middle school girl wearing womens clothes…the girl who wasn’t sure if she was going to get lunch or not today. And that drives me to see forward to the healthy woman without a dependence or fear tied to food.

And so, here we are.

Here is my challenge to you.

Clean out your cupboards. Donate any non-perishable items to the food bank, red cross, or other programs in your neighborhood. Maybe there is someone you know who could really use it, and you’ve been meaning to get it to them. DO IT.

Clean out your closet. If you love it, and it used to fit…that’s wonderful. But it doesn’t fit anymore. Donate it to the shelters, the Goodwill, Amvets…..anywhere where your unused clothing can help fund a great cause or clothe someone in need.

I can pick up any donations in the North County area if you cannot make the trip for whatever reason. Please email me if that is the case. I will see if I can enlist help in the South County region as well.

I will be doing a follow-up post for this project, and will use the photos to help persuade larger business entities to help me make this a bigger movement. I would just like to start close to home and see what we come up with first. By using photo documentation, it’s a fun way for out-of-state and International readers to help, too!

SeeSondraSeductive. Mmmhmm!

After being in the hospital since Sunday night (don’t get me started. YouTube video coming soon!), and not getting home until late last night….I needed something fun in my life.

Wouldn’t you know? I got to pick up Alex and I’s photos from The Boudoir Divas!

As promised, I wanted to share two with you. I am BEYOND satisfied with the final product, and I will be launching my world tour with Victoria’s Angels this spring! Well, that last part is a bit of an exaggeration, but I mean….come on!

Before I share (since I really like building up before the big moment, clearly!), I just want to share again how much this experience really did for me. I feel like every woman needs to take the opportunity to do something like this. I see a side of me that I always wished for, but couldn’t quite channel. These ladies really helped me set her free….and when I see these photos, I truly FEEL sexy. I see all of the allure I posess, and it makes me want to walk around in pin-up style lingerie for the rest of my life. I bought really cute high-waisted undies a la Marilyn Monroe last week, and I’m really sad that I don’t have a photo shoot coming up soon to wear them for. That, my friends, is powerful stuff! Get you some!

Without further procrastination…..here ya’ go!

I'm sorry....it doesn't get much sexier! (Well, not on MY blog, anyways).

Not gonna lie. There are some shots where I made sexual prowess my bitch, pardon the language! I didn’t think my face could master any of these expressions….but, here we are!

I want to send a HUGE thank you to Marissa, Kimberlee, Erin,Peggy, Deena, and all the other wonderful ladies at Boudoir Divas who made my experience what it is. Because of the atmosphere they create, I am able to have a finished product like this! I really can’t articulate the overwheming gratitude, appreciation, admiration, and love I have for them after this shoot.

On a side note, I couldn’t find Peggy’s card when I did the ‘SuperModel’ post, but I’ve located it, and I insist that you check Peggy out too! You see the makeup! I look ridiculously good. You want to hide your significant other from me, don’t you (kidding, kinda!)?

Aside from sharing my new body confidence with the world, I really just want to encourage people to step out of their comfort zone, and have this experience. I will be able to look back at these, and not only remember a huge 90 lb weight loss milestone, but it’s also a reminder that I am a gorgeous force to be reckoned with. And for that? I have no regrets, and offer no apologies to anyone who doesn’t like it.

You shouldn’t, either.

Here’s to celebrating your sexiness….whether it comes in the form of a smile, a slight sneer, or a seductive face you practice in the mirror to make sure you’re not bordering on looking constipated.

I’m Too Skinny for My Pants…or, 30 Day Challenge Part Five!

I’m tooo sexy for my shirt, soooo sexy it huuurrrts! Kidding. But obviously I’m still on my supermodel kick, and the title came from that song playing in my head all morning! Lol.

It’s that time again! The fifth installment of the 30 Day Challenges! Although it never gets easier to post these photos, I do it because I know there is someone out there who needs to see that all of the hard work makes a difference. I used to be that person, and I feel that it is a huge part of this process for me. It’s become something that I actually look forward to! I even timed it around the photo shoot, so that my spray tan for the photo shoot could be twice as useful! Lol.

Now that I have gone ahead and shared my flesh with the world, I have errands to run before work this afternoon! Gotta get a new battery for the car, get a manicure, and pack my gym bag for Zumba after work tonight. Hopefully the pesky resolution crowd has cleared out a bit by now. I went the other night, and spent TWENTY minutes looking for a parking spot at * at night! I never got one, and so I went home! NOT a happy girl!

As far as being too skinny for my pants, I have been wearing a size 16 for the past month or so, but now that they are all too baggy (diaper butt and I…..smh), I went to Forever 21 with my RollDawg Lidia the other day and just decided to try my luck at a pair of size 14 jeans. They fit! I hated them, so I didn’t buy them…but they fit! Well! So, I am a  very happy girl, in that department. Certainly a victory of sorts!

The next couple weekends are sure to be a ball. This weekend I’m hosting Friend Day at the house (Alex is possibly making her  tasty Sambucco shrimp flame…she said it’s going to be her party trick,lol). I am making roast chicken and sangria! WOOOOO! Should be good times, and I’m sure I’ll post pics! Sunday, I plan to completely re-vamp the fridge(for real this time), and head to Trader Joe’s and Sprouts and stock it with skinny girl-friendly fruits, veggies, and snacks. I’ll share my must-haves as soon as I have pretty pictures of my fridge contents to upload.

It’s hump day! The weekend is almost heeeere! Let’s do this!
